In "The Highest High", two promising young men will be launched on separate, life-changing journeys spurred on by critically different choices each make one fateful day. One character chooses painkillers and the other chooses the search for truth. Eventually their two paths intersect with profound consequences that will provide unforgettable teaching moments for the audience and take it on a journey to the heart of opioid abuse.

In 2016, filmmaker and author, John Viscount, began working on "The Highest High" in order to share the life changing lessons he learned from his extensive experience with opioids. John's education with painkillers began at age 15 with the onset of devastating cluster migraine headaches – aptly nicknamed “suicide headaches” - that were a big part of his life for 16 years. These headaches came in large clusters that could last for months at a time and John’s doctors prescribed copious amounts of prescription drugs and painkillers in an unsuccessful effort to cure the headaches. It was only after turning to the study of spiritual teachings and going inward to his heart to the source of his suffering was John finally able to heal himself of this affliction. John was so eager to pass along what he learned so others could benefit, he also authored, "Mind What Matters. A Pep Talk for Humanity."

When John was introduced to the brilliant cosmologist Dr. Jude Currivan, he read her award-winning book, “The Cosmic Hologram." He happily discovered that the latest leading edge science masterfully presented in Dr. Currivan's book proves that the universe and all living beings are unified on a fundamental level and co-create this world together. This further confirmed the time-honored wisdom that had transformed John's life and reacquainted him with his inner joy.

Inspired by their deep alignment, John, Jude and Jude's business partner, Gil Agnew, decided to join forces on John's opioid film project. They incorporated "The Cosmic Hologram" into the story to present an evolutionary perspective called the WholeWorld-View (please see PROJECT FAQ for more info) which enables human beings to transcend the separation, suffering and temptations of our world with a powerful change of mind.

    Project FAQ

What inspired you to create this project?

Until now, mainstream science and society have taught us that we live a world of separation, where a perceiver and a perceived seem to exist as separate realities. However, experiences of elevated states like unity consciousness have often made us feel that this may not be the case, that there is something deeper binding us together beyond the surface layer of our physical bodies and the physical world. In response, many people are left wondering if it is best to look out for "me" or "we", as they try to understand and master this core human dilemma.

Thankfully, new discoveries and leading-edge science as cataloged masterfully by Dr. Jude Currivan's "The Cosmic Hologram" are proving that we are an integral part of one, unified reality that is made of multidimensional consciousness, evolving over time, co-creating our experiences, and learning from them. It is no wonder that so many people in the world feel dis-ease, when they operate under the rules of separation that they know deep down are not only wrong, but illusory. This incorrect, fragmented and incomplete worldview leads us to behave in ways that create results no one wants. By failing to see the world from the standpoint of unity, we have now stumbled blindly to the edge of global emergency and breakdown, for which we are solely responsible.

How is your project empowering for the world?

As we think, so we behave. As detailed in Dr. Jude Currivan's, "The Cosmic Hologram" and John Viscount's, "Mind What Matters. A Pep Talk for Humanity", our theory of change, and impact, is to change our worldview to change our behavior. Currently, we have a separation-based and, therefore, collectively dis-eased worldview. This is the root of much suffering, including opioid addiction and substance abuse. External highs are used as numbing agents to alleviate the painful fear we experience in our heart when we view our interests as separate from other people's interests and feel alone and on our own. Without proper education and better options, we reach for fake, temporary highs to fill the void we feel from not participating in the highest high of life - being of service to others and joining with them in unity and love.

Going forward, the choices we make will determine what life on Earth looks like for future generations, and whether we will continue to be part of the evolutionary story taking place and joyfully accelerating it by choosing unity over separation at every turn. This is our Copernican moment, similar to the moment when human society realized that the Sun does not revolve around us. Placing ourselves at the center of the universe we now know is living a falsehood. Especially given the increasing scientific evidence that proves we are all one on the deepest level and come from the same loving, joyful source, just as universal spiritual experience has confirmed over the millennia. Healing our fractured worldview is the critical first step to changing our collective behaviors in order to co-create a world in which we can all thrive in unity.

What is the message of the project?

Our project endeavors to present the mind's ability to choose wisely as a heroic human quality that can rescue us in our times of deepest trouble and bring us to our greatest heights. Through live action, animation and storytelling, we tell an enlightening and instructional human story that plays out in the dramatic consequences of different choices two teen boys make one fateful day. Our aim is to get people of all ages to take a deeper, more rewarding look at the choices we are making individually and collectively. This new unity-based awareness is fundamental to heal and transform the separation and disconnectedness that we have been conditioned to believe is real.

History shows us that seemingly unmovable, unchangeable institutions and situations can break down under duress and reorganize into a new, higher level of coherence that can emerge very quickly. We saw this with the fall of the dinosaurs and the Berlin Wall. By reframing and reinterpreting the laws of physics and evolution to understand that information is the basic building block of our Universe and reality, the WholeWorld-view opens the door to a hundred-year leap in understanding that can potentially re-define this century the way that Relativity and Quantum Mechanics defined the 20th century.

Is there a social activism component?

The global emergencies we face arise from our belief that we live in a material world of separation that we must conquer at the expense of other human beings, lifeforms, and our planet, in order to thrive. Our activism is focused squarely on influencing and informing the perception of a critical percent of the world’s population sufficient to create a tipping point in our collective consciousness. We have created the WholeWorld-View as an interdependent cooperative of global change agents who understand, experience and embody unity awareness and are recreating our global institutions and actions from this vantage point. Our film "The Highest High" distills this healing, unity-based approach and presents it in the time-honored delivery system of short storytelling to invite people to experience the abundant rewards that this simple change of mind brings.

What stage of development is the project?

The script is written and ready to be produced with several options and teams for productions identified. A communications team is preparing the strategy for developing an educational distribution channel that brings the film into communities where it is used as a tool for capacity building and dissolving separation among individuals, groups, cultures, religions and nations.
